Frequent Flyers Productions has been teaching and performing aerial dance for over 20 years. Our performers venture indoors and out, blending aerial work seamlessly with dance. Vampires, a period Swing piece, comic book heroes, hanging from buildings, and even holiday travel take place on all manner of flying apparatus, ensuring Frequent Flyers Productions' a vibrant place in your memory. Education encompasses aerial classes for the community 11-months each year, our international Aerial Dance Festival, private lessons, team building, and outreach for schools and youth-at-risk. Our new school opened January 11, 2010 and offers classes for everyone aged 5 and up.
Frequent Flyers Productions, Inc. (FFP) was founded in 1988 and incorporated as a non-profit in 1990 by artistic director Nancy Smith. Ms. Smith and her work with FFP have received top honors in Colorado: Women Who Light the Community 2007, The Colorado Dance Alliance 2005 Cutting Edge Award; the 1997 Glenwood Springs Dance Festival's Choreographer's Project Award, the 1996 AHAB/Neodata Choreographer's Fellowship, the 1993 Pacesetter's Award for Arts & Entertainment and the 1990 Arts Innovation Award for Excellence in Dance, as well as numerous grants from corporations, foundations, and government agencies. FFP is one of only a dozen or so professional aerial dance companies in the US. The company produces the only Aerial Dance Festival of its kind in the world.
We have delighted over 118,000 people with our performances since our inception. We produce the only international Aerial Dance Festival, now in its 12th year. We serve the community through a variety of outreach programs, including Kids Who Fly, Aerial Sci-Arts, discussion - demonstrations for youth, and community classes. We have taught nearly 8,000 people from all walks of life the joy of flying. In January, 2010, we are opening our new Aerial Dance Studio. We also have performed for Cirque du Soleil and at the Democratic National Convention's media event, as well as for many private events. You dream it, we can do it!
"I felt free for a moment and I forgot about all my problems and thought about taking advantage of opportunities that life gives me and value them." —Kids Who Fly student
